Remember when censorship was bad?

I was always against moderation because moderation can't
increase the number of conversation that you want. It
can only stop conversation that you're not tolerant of.
And it's always abused.

Like now.

Whachyaonnabout now? Did you try to post something even more
nonsensical than usual? In which case you need to complain^w take your
case to an unmoderated group. In the UK we have u.n.n.m for trolls to moan
about how they can't troll properly any more.

It could be thunderbird or eternal september. More than half of my
posts do not appear on the first try. One recent example took 3
attempts to get posted. For some reason the posts are claimed to have
been sent, but they do not show up on TO. I have to pull them out of
the "sent" folder and try again.

I was blocked some years ago for disputing the Gwobull Warbling
gospels.

Of course I had a history of saying crazy things like "Neanderthals
and so called moderns interbred." Or even that feathers were NOT
an arboreal adaptation and predated anything described as a bird
by many millions of years... Madcap!

Over in another group I started knocked-down, dragged out flame
wars by saying offensive things like "Testimony is considered
evidence, accepted in every last court of law and even used in
many scientific studies, including all of them dependent upon
questioning/polling the public."

Madcap!

You can be convicted and even executed on testimony, but it's
not evidence...

I also argued that Naledi isn't millions of years old.

Madcap!

You people take yourselves *Way* too seriously.

Not on T.O., for better or worse.

Yes on T.O.

I didn't start the thread. I was responding to disinformation
though. And there was lots of it. It was a real wakeup call,
the entire experience and not just being blocked. These were
people who considered themselves objective, "Science based,"
and they were saying a great many easily refuted lies that
they either never questioned or were keeping to an agenda.

Gosh. After all these years, the anti-science dingdongs are still
claiming the automod somehow identifies and deletes their best and most
devastating posts, while only letting the risible nonsense through. It's
nice to know some things never change.
