Discussion:
It isn't too late to sign the Dissent from Darwin IDiocy

I was trying to find anything that the Discovery Institute had been
doing to support the ID creationist scam and it turns out that they
still maintain an active page where they invite skeptics to sign their
dissent from Darwinism statement. The statement "We are skeptical of
claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to
account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence
for Darwinian theory should be encouraged." has been known to a
dishonest ploy to pretend to have legitimate support for the ID scam
from it's first publication at the turn of the century. To think that
there would still be anyone dishonest, ignorant and or incompetent
enough to sign it today seems to reflect how low the ID scam fell
decades ago, and the type of creationists that are willing to support
the scam today, and once supported it decades ago. Since Nyikos died,
and Glenn stopped posting there aren't any TO regulars that support the
ID scam currently, and the ID perps pretty much destroyed the ID scam on
TO when they shot themselves in the head and put out their Top Six
evidences for ID back in 2017. The Top Six and the ID perp's subsequent
statement about what ID is supposed to be and how it should be defended
killed Uncommon Dissent as well as ID on TO so who would sign this junk
today?

Has there ever been an intellectually honest IDiot? Probably not since
the Supreme Court had already said that any legitimate creation science
could be taught in the public schools if any were ever produced, so
there was never any legitimate reason for calling creationist beliefs
anything else. None of the past or present ID perps at the Discovery
Institute qualify. Probably the most intellectually honest IDiot that I
have interacted with was Mike Gene (a pseudonym). He supported the ID
scam and the other ID perps used to joke about how Mike Gene was in
attendance at their conferences when no one with that name was in
attendance. Mike Gene turned out to be more honest than most IDiots,
but would probably never qualify as being intellectually honest. When
the other ID perps figured out that they didn't have any ID science to
teach in the public schools, and they decided to drop the Wedge strategy
of teaching the junk in the public schools, and instead started to use
ID as bait to feed the rubes their obfuscation and denial switch scam.
Mike Gene claimed that he had given up on teaching the ID scam junk back
in 1999. He made the claim in 2003 after there was no doubt that the
bait and switch had gone down on the Ohio Rubes, and that ID was not
going to be taught in the Ohio public schools. Even though the ID perps
had been running the bait and switch on every single group of
creationist rubes that had wanted to teach the ID science for over a
year, at that time, there were still some IDiots on ARN that believed
that ID would be taught in Ohio (the first example of the bait and
switch) but when the model lesson plan was published and ID was not
mentioned, and all the ID perp citations were removed from the final
draft Mike made the admission. As sad as it may be Mike Gene continued
to support the ID scam and did not admit that the ID science had never
existed until he quit the ID scam in 2007. He was honest enough to
admit how bogus the ID science was, but he could not give up on the
science denial. Even after he claimed to stop supporting the ID scam he
could not give up on the science denial. The last junk that I recall
coming out of him was his front loading claims where a creator was
needed to create the first lifeforms so that they had the genes that
would allow them to evolve into all the lifeforms we see today.

What did the Dissent from Darwinism stupidity ever accomplish, and why
are the ID perps still trying to get more dishonest IDiotic creationists
to sign it? Really, at this point in time when the bait and switch has
been going down for over 2 decades, and absolutely zero IDiotic
creationist rubes have gotten any ID science from the ID perps, what
type of creationist would sign this thing? It is just a denial
statement that is just used to support a dishonest creationist scam that
failed, and turned into a bait and switch scam that creationists are
running on themselves.

Rational wiki claims that the low number of recent signatories indicates
that the support for the ID scam has actually been decreasing over the
period including the present. This has likely been true especially
after Dover when IDiots like Philip Johnson gave up on the ID science.
IDiotic scientists like Mike Gene gave up on the ID science after Dover.
It just took him more than a year after Dover to admit that ID had
just been a senseless scam for half a decade. Really, Mike Gene
understood why the ID perps were only using intelligent design as bait
when the bait and switch started to go down in 2002, but he didn't admit
that the ID science did not exist until 2007. Mike Gene likely wasn't
the only Biblical creationists that could no longer support the ID scam.
The Top Six made most of the remaining TO IDiots drop the ID scam.
These were the creationists so deeply into denial that they likely
qualify as being mentally incompetent. The bait and switch, nor the
failure in Dover could move IDiots like Kalk and Bill until they were
forced to deal with the fact that they had never wanted the ID perps to
produce any successful IDiotic science. It would have just been more
science to deny.

Wiki claims:
QUOTE:
The list was advertised in prominent periodicals such as The New York
Review of Books, The New Republic, and The Weekly Standard in October
and November 2001, "to rebut bogus claims by Darwinists that no
reputable scientists are skeptical of Darwinism" by "producing a list of
100 scientific dissenters."[2][31] Its initial release was timed to
coincide with the airing of the PBS Evolution television series at the
end of 2001. The Discovery Institute also launched a tie-in website to
promote the list.[32]

The Discovery Institute has continued to collect signatures, reporting
300 in 2004,[33] over 600 in 2006 (from that year on the Discovery
Institute began to include non-US scientists on the list),[5] over 700
in 2007,[6] and over 1000 in 2019.[4]
END QUOTE:

It does look like support for the ID scam is decreasing. Around 700
signatures in the first 6 years with most of them occurring when Dover
hit the national news, and less than half that number signing up in the
next 12 years (they were claiming over 1,000 signatures in 2019). The
current list might have less than 1,200 signatures (29 pages with around
40 signatures per page).

Is the ID perp's maintenance of this propaganda piece doing anything
except demonstrating how bankrupt the whole endeavor has always been?
